Missions and Ministries

Gaston Ntambo

          Based in Luena in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Gaston serves as a pilot and mechanic with the Wings of the Morning Aviation Ministry of the North Katanga Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church.

Caring Place

          The Caring Place serves Georgetown and Northern Williamson County by providing emergency assistance to individuals and families in crisis.  St. John's collects food donations outside the sanctuary on the first Sunday of each month.

Meals on Wheels

          St. John's helps deliver meals for this ministry to the homebound.  Our local church contact is Lizbeth Munson.

Habitat for Humanity of Williamson County

          Habitat for Humanity of Williamson County, Texas, Inc. is a non-profit Christian ministry that provides affordable home ownership opportunities.  Our local church contacts are Chris Brown, Ralph Hilliard, Ed Veals, and Coleman Callaway.

Central Texas Conference Youth in Mission

          CTCYM brings more than 2,500 youth and adults together to put Christian faith into action by repairing and rebuilding homes weathered by age, poverty or natural disaster.  St. John's Youth participate in this conference-wide ministry each summer.

Project Share

          Each Thanksgiving St. John's joins with the local community to provide food to those in need in Georgetown.

Getsemani Project

          The Getsemani Project is a neighborhood support initiative funded by the United Methodist Church and other grants to develop an old Hispanic Methodist church into a community support facility for the San Jose district of Georgetown.  Contact Randy Cauley.

The Wesleyan at Estrella and The Wesleyan at Sceninc

          Wesleyan Homes is an inclusive ministry of Christ with older adults through the people of the Central Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Kairos

          Karios Prison Ministries address the spiritual needs of incarcerated men, women and children, their families and to those who work in the prison environment.   Our local church contact is Reb Bacchus

Stephen Ministries

          Stephen Ministries is a program of lay pastoral counseling and caregiving.  If you or someone you know is experiencing a difficult time in life, consider a Stephen Minister.  Contact Eilleen Hale or Judy Conner through the church office.

Helping Hand Tutoring

          Free tutoring in math, reading, writing and homework assignments for students in 1st - 8th grades.

Bereavement Committee

          St. John's Bereavement Committee provides support to persons and families who suffer the loss of a loved one.
