Believing v Belonging

You may join St. John's in one of the three ways described below.  You may pick a small brochure about joining in the pews at any worship service or from the church office.   

By profession of Faith and Baptism  A person who begins the Christian life does so through baptism which is a symbol of God’s grace through Jesus Christ. For a young person or adult, this is when God acts in our life to start a new life of faith, commitment, and covenant with God. The vows of membership in the United Methodist Church are shown on Page 34 of the hymnal. If you are ready to profess your faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior and receive God’s gift of baptism, please fill out the information on this form and come to the front of the Sanctuary at the beginning of the final hymn. We welcome you into the family of faith.

By Transfer from another United Methodist Church  Your membership belongs where you live and attend services. We are able to handle all of the paperwork regarding your transfer of membership through our Church office. Please fill out the inside information and come down to the front of the Sanctuary at the beginning of the final hymn. We welcome you and receive you into our family of faith.

By Transfer from another Christian Denomination  We are able to recognize your previous baptism and transfer your church membership from your other denomination. It is not necessary to be re-baptized. Please fill out the inside information and bring it to the front of the Sanctuary during the final hymn. We welcome you as a United Methodist and a member of our family of faith.
