JOY – Thursday, December 18th

“Do not grieve, for the glory of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10 New International Version
“You have made known to me the path of life. You fill me with JOY in Your Presence.” Psalm 16:11 New International Version
“Joy” – according to Webster:
Great pleasure or happiness;
to rejoice or delight
a source or object of pleasure or satisfaction.

In today’s times when there is so much sinfulness and terror about, God’s Word tells us not to worry for there is a place of joy and peace.

In the Presence of the Lord is where our spirit and thoughts need to reside. As we go through the daily activities of life, we are to periodically stop and talk to the Lord, for we are always in His Holy Presence as with the attending angels also.

This time of year is especially meaningful as we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Savior. It is a time of gathering of family and friends where we share pleasant memories and make new ones. Let us enter the Season with the everlasting promises of our Almighty God.

Father God, as we enter the season of joy, we offer up the sacrifice of praise for Your love and many promises that carry us through life. Above all, we thank You for Jesus, Who left the throne and became one of us – to suffer for us and to demonstrate the successful and victorious life. In His Name, Amen.
