JOY – Friday, December 26th

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds.”
James 1:2 New International Version

So many things in life are out of our control. Life is full of highs and lows. Successes and failures. It’s a roller coaster of events, struggles, trials, and tribulations.  It’s through these tough times where I find myself asking God why are you doing this to me and my family? I’ve found out the only answer is to just trust in the Lord and his plan. I give everything to him.  The only thing I can control is my attitude and how I choose to live each day.

I lost my Uncle last December to a malignant brain tumor and currently my Grandfather is battling cancer. The only way that I can get through these tough times is to live in the present moment! I try to show my affection extravagantly by hugging my grandfather every chance I get and cherishing every moment that I’m with him. I try to make jokes to make him laugh. We have a choice in how we live each day. I want to turn a bad situation into a better situation. It’s better to look at the joy and the precious moments/experiences that I’m sharing with my grandfather than the tough battle that he is enduring.  I choose Joy!  I choose Joy for the Joy of the Lord is my strength!! My only goal is to spread the JOY to everyone I come in contact with. I’m trying to serve the Lord by passing along this Joy every chance I get.   Most importantly, I choose to spread Joy to my grandfather and let the light of the Lord shine upon him!

I’m encouraging everyone to spread joy! To want to inspire, influence, and encourage other people to Choose Joy! To spread happiness and laughter, to do good things for others to make this world a little better place to live.

You have a choice! I choose Joy!

God Bless!
