HOPE – Wednesday, December 24th

“The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.” Lamentations 3:25-26 New International Version

This verse is a good reminder for us as we enter the season of Advent. This is a time of year that we should seek Jesus Christ as our Savior. Too many times though, we miss Jesus because we are seeking and hoping for other things. There are so many things that have to be done during the holiday season. We feel like we have to buy the perfect gifts, decorate, cook, clean, and stress over all the things that go along with the holiday. There is so much else to do that we that we can forget the real reason for the season of Advent.
We place our hope in things and people and not in the Savior of the world, Jesus. I have to admit that I am guilty of this; I get so busy that I sometimes forget What and Who the season is really about.

We have a choice during this holiday season, we can continue with the hustle and bustle or we can slow down a little bit and take time to seek Jesus by prayer and reading His Word. He is waiting for us to sit quietly and seek a closer relationship with Him. What better gift could we receive during this Advent season than a closer relationship with Christ?

Our Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for the most wonderful Gift of all, Jesus. Please help us to slow down during this season and seek Him. Amen.
