God’s Power in the Spoken Word
“In the beginning …”
On the first day, God said, “Let there be light and there was light …” God created Day and Night. God saw that it was good.
On the second day, God said, “Let there be a firmament …” God created Heaven. God saw that it was good.
On the third day, God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together in one place …” Dry land appeared. God called the dry ground Earth and the gathered waters Seas. He also said, “Let there be grass, … and herbs … and fruit trees …” With these words He created these things. God saw that it was good.
On the fourth day, God said, “Let there be Lights in the firmament Heaven …” God created the Sun, the Moon, and the stars, for signs, seasons, days and years. God saw that it was good.
On the fifth day, God said, “Let the waters abound with an abundance of creatures and the sky fill with birds.” God created fishes and sea animals and birds, and a plan for them to multiply. God saw that it was good.
On the sixth day, God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature … cattle, and creeping thing and beast of the earth …” Then God said, “Let us make man in Our image …” And God created Man … God saw that it was good.
“In the beginning, God … and the Spirit was upon the face of the waters …” Genesis 1:1
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him and without Him nothing was made that was made.” John 1:1-3
In the beginning was God. Father, Son, and Spirit.
In all this we see the Power of the spoken word of God and the Power of Christ, the Word made flesh to dwell among us.
What POWER, that the Word was spoken and all things came into existence! What POWER, that He came to rescue us from the power of sin and death and hell.
Thank You, Father God, for creating and seeing that all You created was good. Thank You for Your Word, for Your Son and Your Spirit. Thank You for revealing Your Power in wonderful ways. Amen.
