Friends and neighbors,
Many or most of you are aware of the following news, but some are not. So, I wanted to take this chance to fill in any who have not heard: I will be leaving my role as Director of Music Ministries at St. John’s in August in order to enter a M.M. program for choral conducting at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ. August 10 will be my last Sunday.
I am excited for the new opportunity, but I am sad to be leaving the home I have found here at St. John’s. Nearly seven years ago, this congregation showed a cynical preacher’s kid what God’s love could really do in the local church, and I am indebted to all of you for the countless ways you have helped me grow musically, spiritually, and personally.
Beyond my own bittersweet sentiments, allow me to say how eager I am for St. John’s to experience the new ideas and energy that will come with your next Music Director. Just as God has blessed me personally through this congregation and its ministries these past several years, I trust that God will continue to bless this church and this community through St. John’s music ministries for years to come.
Grace and peace and cheers,
